All those pounds really do add up!

St Luke’s Hospice is once again urging local businesses to join their ‘Bring a £1 to Work Day’, billed as the easiest way for local people to support patient care.

The initiative is taking place on Wednesday 21st September 2022 and is an opportunity for businesses across Cheshire to ask their members of staff to donate just £1 each to St Luke’s.

Last year, over 60 local companies got involved and Andy Bailey from St Luke’s fundraising team is hopeful that the business community will once again pledge to help out:

“The lovely thing about Bring a Pound is that it’s open to all workplaces, whether you’re part of a team of three or 300. It’s a great atmosphere, as our armies of volunteers hit the roads to collect in as many pounds as possible in a single day. Last year the campaign raised more than £5000 which is a significant contribution to patient care at the Hospice, making a difference to local families.”

This year, St Luke’s has launched a Community Night Care service to support local people in their own homes overnight. Since launching at the start of summer, the service has supported numerous patients and their families, enabling carers to get a much needed night’s sleep while their loved one is cared for by a St Luke’s Healthcare Assistant.
