Where Moments Count
Spring Appeal
Help us create moments that count for our patients and their families
Every day your support helps us create moments of peace, connection, and comfort for patients and for their families and friends.
Thanks to supporters like you, we can offer expert care, emotional support, and the simple but powerful things that matter most: comfort, reassurance and time together.
Please help us create moments that count by making a donation to our ‘Where Moments Count’ Spring Appeal.
Your donation will help ensure that every patient, every family and every child we care for and support can experience connection, comfort and peace when they need it most.
A donation of £25
A Moment of Connection
A kind donation of £25 will help fund counselling for a child who has suffered bereavement, helping them through their grief and supporting them as they begin to make sense of life without someone they love.
Our Family Support Team provides 1-2-1 counselling for bereaved children, as well as the Phoenix Support Group which is run by trained counsellors and volunteers. The group provides a safe place where children and young people are helped to understand the feelings and experiences associated with loss, and given coping strategies and practical tools to help. Importantly they are also able to meet other children in a similar situation.
Any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated in helping to create these moments of connection for bereaved children.
A donation of £50
A Moment of Comfort
By donating £50, you will bring moments of comfort to a patient through our complementary therapy clinics – helping to soothe pain, reduce anxiety and create calm.
Our skilled Complementary Therapists provide support from the moment a person is diagnosed with a life limiting or life changing condition. This can include coping and adjusting to life with a diagnosis, supporting during treatments and with advancing disease.
They offer therapies including Reflexology, Reiki and therapeutic massage to promote relaxation, alleviate feelings of anxiety, improve symptoms such as pain and sickness and help promote sleep.
A donation of £100
A Moment of Peace
A generous donation of £100 will help create moments of peace on our Inpatient Unit, allowing patients and their families and friends to spend precious time together in comfort and calm.
51-year-old Carla Bentley from Hartford was cared for on our Inpatient Unit in her final days. Her mum Anne describes what the care and support meant to the whole family: “St Luke’s weren’t just there for Carla, they were there for all of us. They made the worst situation of our whole lives bearable. We stayed overnight with Carla and the nurses looked after all of us so well. Carla was comfortable and the room was just lovely – bright, sunny, with roses outside the window. It was beautiful. We couldn’t have wished for a better last few days.”

Daniel and Kim’s Story
By donating to our ‘Where Moments Count’ Spring Appeal, you will be helping us to care for more families like Daniel Stokoe’s from Crewe.
From diagnosis to final days, we supported 43-year-old Daniel, his wife Kim and their children Izzy and Harry.
Kim shared: “In the last few weeks, I’d pick Harry and Izzy up from school and go straight to the Hospice. They could spend precious time with their dad and it never felt clinical. The staff were so kind.
“We’d read, play games, and Harry would help himself to ice cream. That’s what we all needed. I honestly don’t know how we would have coped without St Luke’s. We had that time together, and we’ll be forever grateful.”
