February is the start of our 100K Your Way fitness challenge!

Take on our amazing 100K Your Way challenge! Set yourself a 100 kilometre target throughout the month of February and tackle it how, when and where you want to help us support local families when they need St Luke’s hospice the most.

How does it work? YOU are in total control of this challenge, as you decide WHEN, WHERE and HOW you complete your 100 kilometres. All that we ask is that you do it within the 29 days of February and attempt to raise much needed funds for your local Hospice. Most participants run, walk or cycle but in the past we’ve had swimmers and even rowers! You could do it around your neighbourhood, in the park or at the gym. On your own, with your dog, with friends or you may want to get together with workmates in your lunch hour, it’s completely up to you. There are NO registration fees to pay and we’ll even send you a FREE T-shirt to wear when doing your challenge!

Last year, more than 60 supporters came together to raise around £5,000, an amazing achievement but one we’d love to beat this year!

So Why February? From Thursday 1st Feb you have 29 days (remember we’ve got an extra day this year, lucky you!) to complete your 100K (62.1 miles). Plus, if you didn’t quite have the willpower to stick with your New Year’s resolution, then maybe this has come at the right time!

Plan your routes There are some great ways to help you with your 100K goal – and some of them won’t cost you a penny! There are several FREE apps available to download (e.g. Strava) on to your phone, which will map your run and calculate your distance as you go.

Help and Support With 100K Your Way, we like to encourage all participants to join our 100K Facebook group. This is a social space for supporters to share top tips, thoughts on how the challenge is progressing and ideas of walking and running routes. It’s a positive environment where we can support one another, plus we really like to see photos of you taking on your 100K, so please do share in the group. You can join HERE!

Fundraise for us 100K your way is certainly no mean feat and we’d like to encourage you to fundraise for St Luke’s where you can. There is NO minimum fundraising target, but could you imagine if 100 people raised £100 each, then collectively we would raise £10,000 which would be enough to run our Day Hospice for a WHOLE WEEK – providing care, support and therapies for over 100 patients and their families.
