Jacob’s Story
We were privileged to care for 25-year-old Jacob Whitehead from Northwich who spent his final weeks on our Inpatient Unit. Jacob’s girlfriend Sarah Watters describes what our care meant to Jacob, his family and friends…
“On the 2nd of May 2024, we sadly lost Jacob following his battle with Stage 4 Brain Cancer, aged just 25. He spent his final 8 weeks at the hospice where the support and care provided was nothing short of outstanding. Jacob was treated like royalty and we couldn’t have asked for a better place for him to spend his final 2 months.”
“Anyone who knew Jacob, knew him for his sense of humour, and countless line up of friends. During his time at the hospice, despite being poorly and knowing what was coming, he never lost this sense of humour; still managing to make us laugh during the most brutal circumstances. What made the hospice special to Jacob, was that it felt like home and gave us a glimpse of normality in otherwise devastating circumstances.”
