Our Day Hospice is a warm and welcoming space, looking after hundreds of patients each year. Our skilled team of nurses and therapists are supported by social workers, benefits advisors, counsellors, befrienders and the spiritual care and chaplaincy team.
Our Complementary Therapy specialists offer solutions to help promote relaxation, alleviate feelings of anxiety, improve symptoms such as pain and sickness and help promote sleep. These include Reflexology, Reiki, therapeutic massage and HEARTS – a gentle touch therapy.
Our Lymphoedema nurses are on hand to give practical help to post-cancer treatment patients that are experiencing a failure of their lymphatic system. Our experienced team help by stimulating the flow of fluid throughout the body and advise on techniques, including specialist exercises, to help a patient’s personal needs.
Our Community Night Care Service is dedicated to looking after patients overnight and in their own homes. This is a new service, part of ‘St Luke’s at Home’, and serves as a great relief to loved ones of patients who can enjoy some respite care for themselves.
Our Inpatient Unit provides vital respite and end-of-life care. Our 12-bed unit offers a mix of individual rooms and shared bays.
We also have a relatives’ room, so that loved ones can stay overnight and be close.
We also work closely with The Christie, who host weekly clinics to save local people the hassle of going to Manchester for their treatments.
