Christmas Tree donation brings festive sparkle to St Luke’s

St Luke’s Hospice is shining a little brighter this Christmas thanks to the generosity of local town councils, who have donated a magnificent, illuminated Christmas tree to the Hospice grounds.

Standing at an impressive 25ft, the tree now brings warmth, colour, and festive cheer to the Hospice courtyard, just outside the Inpatient Unit. Its gentle glow offers moments of peace and comfort for patients, who can enjoy the twinkling lights from their rooms throughout December.

This festive gift has been made possible by funding from Northwich Town Council and Winsford Town Council, with the tree once again beautifully decorated by AMR Technical.

Winsford Mayor, Cllr Graham Newton, and Northwich Mayor, Cllr Julie Macdonald, visited the Hospice to witness the tree’s first illumination, accompanied by Andrew Cooper MP.

Cllr Graham Newton said: “What a wonderful job you all do at St Lukes, showing compassion to everyone who enters your doors and their families.  It is a privilege for me to attend this event , as St Luke’s are one of my charities this year. All staff and volunteers always go above and beyond for everyone that needs this wonderful service.”

Cllr Julie Macdonald added: “What an amazing job you all do at St Lukes, showing compassion to everyone who enters your doors and their families.  You really do go above and beyond. Without your facility, it would be a much harder time for many people.”

The tree also created a beautiful and serene backdrop for St Luke’s Light up a Life service, held on Sunday 30 November at the Hospice. This much-loved annual event brings families together to honour and remember loved ones, with each light on the tree dedicated in their memory.

Andrew Cooper MP, who attended the service, shared: “It was an honour to be invited by St Luke’s Hospice to attend the unveiling of their illuminated Christmas tree in Winsford. The tree looks wonderful, and I know everyone at the hospice appreciates the support from the town councils and AMR Technical which has made this possible.

“I look forward to continuing to support the hospice and the amazing work they do in any way that I can.”

St Luke’s Hospice extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making this generous and uplifting donation possible.
