For the month of February, St Luke’s Hospice is asking supporters to get outside and get active for their ‘no-pressure’ fitness challenge, 100K Your Way.
100k Your Way is as simple as that. You are in control of how to complete 100K within the 28 days of February and raise vital funds for patient care at the Hospice.
Andy Bailey from St Luke’s said: “100K Your Way is all about getting out and taking in the fresh air while fundraising for St Luke’s. It’s totally ‘no-pressure’ and it’s a great excuse to get healthy and active all for a good cause.”
Participants can choose when, where and how they’d like to complete the 100Km (62.1 miles), with no registration fee, no minimum fundraising target and a free St Luke’s T-shirt to wear when taking part.
Last year’s 100K Your Way was a big success for the Hospice, with 160 people taking part and raising around £22,000 for patient care.
One of those who took part and will also be doing the challenge this year is Hannah Robson, a Health Care Assistants at the Hospice.
She said: “I walked the 100k around my local area of Winsford. I found that the challenge made me really focus on my goals of reaching a certain distance for each walk and it helped me get out in the local area with other St Luke’s supporters.”
“I was walking in all sorts of conditions too, rain, sun and snow, which made it difficult at times but I’m glad I was able to beat the 100K target and raised £160 doing so.”
When you sign up you will receive a ‘welcome’ pack with a free T-shirt, a sponsorship form and 100K planner for the month of February. Supporters can also choose to join the dedicated Facebook group to share their tips, routes and pictures of their challenge.
