Hospice hosts Care for a Cuppa fundraiser to inspire local community

St Luke’s Hospice are appealing for supporters to host their own Care for a Cuppa event after holding a successful fundraiser at the Hospice in Winsford, raising £2,000 for patient care.

The event took place on Friday 9th May, with around 250 members of the local community coming along to spend some time at the Hospice with a cuppa, some cake and good company.

St Luke’s Community Fundraiser, Mandy Shaw said: “We were overwhelmed by the response from our supporters. As well as the fantastic funds that were raised, I was touched by the lovely conversations that took place. Everyone was so welcoming and no one sat on their own very long. There was a genuine feeling of community and support for the Hospice that was lovely to see.”

The St Luke’s Community Team hope that the event will inspire more people to host their own Care for a Cuppa fundraiser.

Mandy Shaw said: “I would encourage people to think about hosting their own coffee morning or tea party with friends and family to support the vital work of the Hospice. Every penny raised makes a real difference to the care we provide.”
