St Luke’s overwhelmed by entries to photography competition

Amateur photographers who captured the beauty of the local area during lockdown are to be featured in St Luke’s Hospice calendar for 2021.

The Hospice has been inundated with entries to its photography competition. The public are now being asked to vote for their favourite 12 images which will take pride of place in the calendar and also be part of a display around the Hospice.

Overall, St Luke’s received more than 130 photos from all around the Cheshire area featuring landscape and animal images. Voting is now underway on the official St Luke’s Facebook page for supporters to choose their favourite photos in each seasonal category.

Events Manager Jane Thompson, who organised the competition, said: “We’re delighted with the submissions we’ve received for our competition. Our supporters went above and beyond submitting such a wide variety of photographs from across our local area. I’m really excited to see what the top 12 photos will be. Everyone at St Luke’s is very grateful to every person who entered a photo, they have all been wonderful to look at.”

The top 12 photographs will be featured in the St Luke’s 2021 calendar, which is sold to help raise funds for patient care at the Hospice. Additionally, the top 12 photographs will be displayed around St Luke’s Hospice in a gallery for patients and staff to enjoy. The individual top voted photo will also receive a £50 cash prize.
