Volunteers’ Week 2025 – Lillie (Day Hospice)

We’re excited to welcome Lillie, one of the newest additions to our fantastic team at Day Hospice. As a volunteer, Lillie helps create a warm and welcoming environment by greeting patients, offering a friendly face, and providing a listening ear while they wait to be seen.
At just 19 years old, Lillie from Nantwich is one of our youngest volunteers. She’s spending her gap year gaining hands-on experience before heading to university in September.
Reflecting on her time with us so far, Lillie shared:
“It feels great to be part of a team and to support people when they need it. Sometimes, just having someone to chat with can really make a difference — and I love being that person.
I can be a bit of a chatterbox, so I really enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. It’s lovely to connect and understand different perspectives.”
For young people like Lillie, volunteering offers more than just the chance to give back — it’s also a great way to build confidence, gain life experience, and enhance future university or job applications.
